“This sure beats having a real job,” is something I often say on assignment. As a professional photographer, I’ve seen the world and had the pleasure of photographing a wide variety of people from presidents and dictators to famous musicians, athletes, and actors.
My first love is tour photography and I’ve worked with Gloria Estefan, Evanescence, Barenaked Ladies, Avril Lavigne, Joss Stone, and Drew Carey among others. When I’m not on tour, you’ll often find me working as a
contributing photographer for Sports Illustrated. They’ve published my images on the cover numerous times and have featured my work in the “Pictures of the Decade” and “Year in Pictures” issues.
Photo District News named one of my images as an “Icon of the 21st Century,” and my work has been published in Rolling Stone, Time, Newsweek, People, Entertainment Weekly, Blender, Kerrang, USA Today, and The New York Times. Before moving to New York City in 2001, I spent eight years as a member of the Miami Herald’s Pulitzer-Prize winning staff where I covered national and international news, sports, and politics.
I shoot video as well and have produced EPK’s, music videos, and video blogs for clients such as CBS, The Travel Channel, FremantleMedia, Embassy Row, Island/Def Jam and Select Records. I’m also the founder and president of TourPhotographer.com, a company that sells prints to music fans after each show on a tour.
I take on a number of speaking engagements each year and have taught workshops and given presentations for Apple, the National Press Photographers Association, and Columbia University. I’m also a member of Apple’s Aperture Advisory Board.
I live in New York City with my wife singer/songwriter/creativity coach Alice Marie and our four-year-old daughter Amanda.
